Special Notices

o: Members of the Roseville Community Band

From: President Dave Hansen

Summary of the Zoom meeting of the band on Monday, March 29, 2021

Sad news: Gina Bryant (flute) passed away in December from natural causes. Gina joined the band in 2006.

Rehearsals: This summer we will rehearse outdoors. No indoor rehearsals. The City of Roseville is allowing us to practice at the Rog Amphitheater in Central Park on Monday evenings.

We will begin weekly rehearsals Monday, May 3rd. Rehearsals will be 7:00-8:30 pm. The earlier start and end time is for neighborhood sound mitigation. We may begin setting up at 6:30 pm.

Weather plan: In case of rain, members will be notified by email that the rehearsal or concert has been canceled.

In case of cold weather, rehearsals will not be canceled. Individual members may choose not to attend if they feel it is too cold to play.

Concerts: No concerts at senior residences this summer. We are scheduled to play three concerts at the Rog - Tuesday, June 29 at 7pm, Sunday, July 4 at 9pm, Tuesday, July 20 at 7pm.

These concerts are subject to change, depending on public health guidelines. We will not give a Memorial Day concert at Como Park this year.

COVID-19 safety plan: Roseville Parks & Rec requires all groups using city facilities to prepare a COVID-19 safety plan and have It approved by the city. Our plan has been written by Joan Madden and approved by Roseville Parks & Rec. We must comply with the MN Department of Health requirements for music rehearsals and performances. These requirements are updated periodically. In case there are updates we need to include in our plan, we will wait until later in April to send the final detailed document to all band members. Everyone is expected to know and follow the plan. The main points are 1) wear face masks at all times when not playing a wind instrument and 2) maintain 6 feet between players. Bell covers and other instrument covers are recommended, but they are not required. We will bring our own water and hand sanitizer.

Equipment: Chairs are provided by Roseville. We will bring our own stands and music. Percussion equipment will be transported by truck.

Music: Dan will send us a list of music to prepare. New members and others who do not have everything on the list should contact their section leader to arrange to get the needed music. Section leaders will also collect music from any members who will not be playing this summer.
